Website terms
The rules for using this site, in plain English.

Who we are
Alex Farrell, trading as AFL Solar, of 27 King Street, Leeds, LS1 2HL, runs this website. Using it means accepting these terms.
What we do
AFL Solar takes enquiries from homes and businesses in Leeds and West Yorkshire, works out whether a property looks right for solar panels, a battery or an EV charger, and arranges a free survey with the MCS-certified installation team. All the surveying, design, supply and installation is done by an MCS-certified installation company, never by us. They give you a written quote and, if you accept it, do the job.
Your installation contract is with the installer
The quote after the survey comes from the installation company. Say yes and you have a contract with them, which AFL Solar is not part of. Their name and MCS certificate number are on the quote, and the MCS register lets you check both before any money changes hands. Manufacturers provide the product warranties on their own published terms. You can still come to us, and we will follow things up with the installer for you.
Reading our savings figures
Savings figures on this site are estimates. The assumptions behind them sit under the calculator and in each guide. Use them to judge whether a survey is worth booking, and do not read them as an offer, because a price only binds anyone once it is in the installer’s written quote.
Your real saving comes down to the weather, your tariff, your usage and your roof, and we control none of those. Payback periods are illustrations and do not guarantee a financial return.
Grants and VAT
Anything we say on grant schemes, 0% VAT or the Smart Export Guarantee is how we read the rules on the date given beside it, and rules change. An installation’s VAT rate turns on the tax point of the invoice the installer issues. Nothing on this site sets that rate, and neither does paying a deposit. None of this is financial advice.
Using this site
Feel free to read and share pages for personal, non-commercial purposes. Copying the site’s words, design or code for business use is not allowed, and neither is scraping it or using the enquiry form for anything but a real enquiry. Any part of the site can be altered or taken down without notice.
Our liability
We try hard to keep the site right, but errors and downtime can happen. To the extent the law permits, we accept no liability for loss caused by using the site or relying on what it says. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury, or takes away your statutory consumer rights.
Governing law
These terms fall under the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction.
